“ Finally made it down here. We've been to the one on Main and liked it; that's more coffee and breakfast, this is more lunch and dinner. Inside, and out, it is decorated in a NOLA theme. Green, purple, gold, streets and other things reminiscent of the city. The building is an old Long John Silver's, but other than the shape you can't tell. Easy access off High. Plenty of parking. Super friendly service. Interesting menu, with all the faves. I looked and pondered, but of course had to get the crawfish etouffee. I would also have liked to try the jambalaya and gumbo, and more of the sides, but there's just not enough room in my belly. I got mac for K, and tried some- creamy, cheesy, excellent. And red beans and rice for Sweetie; we haven't tried that yet but it looks good. That also came with cornbread. My etouffee was excellent. Beautifully plated, plenty of sweet tasty crawfish, just enough perfectly cooked rice on top, nice creamy sauce with the right flavors. We honeymooned in New Orleans and the food was a highlight. This is almost as good. Prices are high, but it's good stuff, some of it seafood, and the portions are fair. It'll be an occasional treat. Wish it was closer to me. ”

“ Backstory: I've eaten ALL OVER THE WORLD and one of my top 5 restaurants is PAPPADEAUXS. Me and the misses had a little time off so we were going to drive to 1hr 1/2 to Springdale (suburb of Cincinnati)to go to Pappadeauxs but didn't feel like the drive so we did a little research and decided on this spot. Upon pulling up I was a little skeptical. This area of Columbus and South High St is stuck in a time warp where there's even a Ponderosa nearby and I could swear the city or state has been working on that same stretch of highway and off ramps for generations. This location was in a converted Long John Silvers that had closed down. Inside it was Mardi Gras up with definite New Orleans flare and decoration. There are also cool pictures of maybe the owner hugged up with Ginuwine, Lavelle Crawford, Tank, Bruce Bruce and others which was cool. The only inside drawback is that this place doesn't seem to have central air but instead fans. Nevertheless I felt like it added to the NOLA theme as I've been there as well and a lot of creole restaurants are hot, dark, no fans etc and I kinda was getting that NOLA feel along with the theme. The food, albeit pricey, is well worth the cost in amount you get, taste, preparation, flavor combinations, and execution. The catfish dish had two HUGE pieces of catfish that were cleaned, breaded marvelously, and fried to perfection. The crawfish etouffee was silky smooth, pleasing to the palate and full of pieces of fresh crawfish that was plated over the catfish. Even the bed of white rice underneath was well flavored, wasn't starchy, and perfect. The Mac and cheese was superb with a homemade taste that makes you wanna slap your mama and the cheese pull on it was EPIC! Heck even the seemingly mundane dinner rolls had a tasty butter and honey glaze over the top that took them to another level. At first we were disappointed that they didn't have BEIGNETS. It was explained to us that the beignets were at their OTHER LOCATION on E. Main St. Service here couldn't have been better. She was nice, courteous, explanatory of the menu and what this location served vs the E. Main St location, attentive and PROFESSIONAL unlike the baristas at LITTLETON's MARKET (see my other post). Excuse my digression, but everything was so good that we were glad we didn't make the trek to Pappadeauxs. Matter of fact we were so taken aback at how DELICIOUS the food was here that we left, went to their other location for dessert and got piping hot and fresh BEIGNETS as well. Can't say this enough that you should definitely go here because NOBODY is pulling off that classic NEW ORLEANS food and flavor like this place is: YATS is a joke and overrated as hell as all it is is gravy with little to no proteins in it over tasteless rice. Darryl Eats from Instagram hit up Creole 2 Geaux and said all their food was salty, over spiced, and not fresh, and Gallos Kitchen is regularly SOLD OUT of EVERYTHING! This is THE PLACE TO GO and we can't wait to go back and get some family dinners ”

“ Stopped here for lunch while finishing up a road trip- and WOW we were so glad we did. The hospitality was incredible as well as the food. I got beans and rice, with Who Dat punch. Delicious! The portions were great, flavorful, and when we were packing up the rest of our food to go, the kind ladies refreshed servings of our drinks and put them in to-go cups too. Highly recommend Way Down Yonder.. I only wish we lived closer to visit again. ”

We had the Crawfish Étouffée, Jambalaya, and sweet potato and it was all great. We drove 40 minutes to get there and it was well worth the trip. They also have a drive through! ”

“ Went for a late lunch on Friday while visiting family in Columbus. It was the first time anyone in our group ate there.. We had the Louisiana Crawfish Étouffée, (2) Down By The Bayou entrées, and a 4 Wing sweet and spicy dinner with Sweet Potato Casserole and baked mac and cheese. EVERYTHING was delicious and full of flavor. The portion sizes were more than filling and the quality of the ingredients was obvious. Everyone's food was plated beautifully and prepared as requested. The Sweet Potato Casserole made me ask to meet the owner !!!! Chef Yonder is very friendly, personable, and has an obvious passion for what she does. We appreciated that she took the time to talk with us. The family vibe was obvious and the service was excellent. This will definitely be on our "return to" list when we are in Columbus. ”

“ Every single thing I've tried here has been phenomenal. Not just good... phenomenal. The chicken (with sauces), Mac n cheese, greens, cornbread, gumbo, crawfish etouffee, even the punch. It does feel pricey for the atmosphere but I forget once I start eating lol ”

“ Haven't posted a restaurant in a while but I love bringing awareness to family owned restaurants and this one is amazing. If you've never tried authentic New Orleans food I highly recommend you hit this spot. I got the Chicken and sausage gumbo, dirty rice, baked Mac and cheese, Mixed Greens and house made punch and it was delicious.... almost forgot about the cornbread with cinnamon butter spread on top. I decided to get video of the restaurant because have off that creole vibe and it felt special. The service was amazing and the staff smiled as soon as I walked in; it's really a family ran restaurant that's good for the whole family. I would give it a 8/10 rating and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something delicious and different for dinner or late lunch. ”

“ Happened to be in this part of town for the Zucchini festival and were underwhelmed with food options and found this place to try. First of all to note, they are short staffed and because of such they have a sign on the front door saying dine in seating is reservation only. If you find yourself in the position to be in their lot and seeing that (as we did) just call and see how busy they are. They are more than willing to serve people as long as they aren't overrun with their one waitress. Second, the inside of the place is Over the TOP!!! It's like New Orleans had a parade throw up all over it, and I loved it. Color on the walls, beads everywhere, and lots of fun pictures on the walls. The mural was great too but I forgot to take a picture. Third, and most important, the food. The food was SPECTACULAR!!!! I got the chicken gumbo, mom got the shrimp and grits and our friend got the Po'Boy. Everything had amazing flavor, the seafood was prepared fresh. You could hear the sizzles and smell the freshly fried foods after we ordered. They had a punch that looked amazing but was not my cup of tea. It's very sweet, flavors aren't balanced and tastes like a powdered fruit punch. The Mac and cheese (my standard of judgment for a restaurant) was top notch. Not sure if the pasta was cooked to order but I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Al dente, just the way I like it and it had real cheese. Might have had some velveeta in there too but I wasn't sure. You will wait a bit for your food but I promise you it's worth it. Note: they ask if you want cornbread with your meal but it is not included in the price. I just like being aware when I'm offered something that isn't part of what I'm ordering. Service was great, even being short staffed. I will definitely be back and bringing friends. ”
